For Kevin Freeman, his four-year odyssey to warn the U.S. about the real and imminent threat of economic warfare began with a single stock pick.

The Tulsa native, a financial analyst and CEO of Freeman Global Investment Counsel, is the author of “Secret Weapon,” a nonfiction work that details his research into the ways America’s foreign enemies have worked to manipulate and ultimately destroy the U.S. economy.

“Many of this country’s greatest enemies – from Osama bin Laden to China’s People’s Liberation Army – have publicly stated their intentions to attack the U.S. economy,” Freeman said during a telephone conversation.

“And there is no doubt in my mind that financial terrorism was one of the causes of the economic collapse in 2008,” he said. “It certainly wasn’t the only cause – the banking and real estate industries were responsible for some of the problems. But I don’t think our financial infrastructure would have gone over the edge quite the way it did without this push from outside forces.”
